In the Beginning

This was the start of putting in the darkroom and dry studio space in the old barn. I can't believe their used to be horses in this place! Slowly but surely, it will be transformed. DreamLight Studio  Air with Norman Life The view above my house I t’s been nearly two years since I was priced-out of the house in Santa Rosa (the house burned down in the Sonoma fires last October) and took refuge in my West Oakland studio of 30 years. Since then I packed up everything that was important for an epic move to France. After a few false starts, I have finally found home. The new house is big, rambling, and affordable. It sits on a knoll underneath a moody Norman sky with dazzling qualities of light. And there is a perfect darkroom space with a small adjoining studio. I was fortunate enough to spent a wonderful Christmas here even though the house was empty. The movers just brought my things from California last week, and it feels good to be home again.  “Photographs from my Backyard” is about a new visual journey.
